Dear colleague:
We're pleased to announce the formation of "NCSU-forgen", a new email
listserv for those interested in forest genetics at NC State. We expect
anyone who wants to receive general postings, seminar announcements, post
questions, job opps, etc., or just to follow what's happening in forest genetics
on campus will want to subscribe. Posting to the list can only be done by
subscribers, but this allows you to reach people in all areas of forest genetics
at NCSU.
To post or receive email on NCSU-forgen, you must first apply and have your
subscription must be approved -- if you apply from ncsu.edu or I recognize your
name, chances are your subscription will be approved! To request a subscription,
send an email message to mj2@lists.ncsu.edu
with no subject and the only the following command in the message body:
subscribe ncsu-forgen
Once the message is sent, you will receive a notice that the list owner must
approve your subscription. At the same time, the list owner receives the
subscription request and is given an opportunity to approve or deny the request.
Upon approval, you will receive a welcome message that provides you with a
password and unsubscription information. Make sure to keep this welcome
message, as the password is required for several of the subscriber commands.
An overview of basic subscriber commands is available at http://www.ncsu.edu/it/essentials/tools/list_services/mj2/commands.html
Posting a message to the ncsu-forgen listserv message board is as easy as
sending an email to ncsu-forgen@lists.ncsu.edu.
The post does not require commands or a specific form.
Feel free to direct questions to ncsu-forgen-owner@lists.ncsu.edu.
Please feel free to distribute this message to others who might be interested.
Thanks!
Tim
